NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH PUBLIC LIBRARY
**************************
The Guelph Public Library has some great news to share! We’ve missed you. A LOT! Connect with the Library once again as we welcome you back into all Guelph Public Library locations starting on Tuesday Aug. 4, 2020.

We will be shifting away from curbside pickup on that day and will be opening our doors for our regular summer hours of operation (*note: West End Branch will have modified hours). The Bookmobile will join in the fun some time soon.

Things may look a little different within each library location as we follow Public Health guidelines and have set up our spaces to encourage physical distancing, offering hand sanitizer and regular cleaning along with wearing face masks for everyone’s protection. We hope you’ll join us in this effort.

  • Computers will be accessible for 30-minute sessions. Please visit library service desks to obtain your computer pass.
  • Makerspace and tech activity will be available at Westminster Square Branch only.
  • West End Branch will have its own unique entrance with modified hours of operation.
  • Programs and Book Clubs will continue to take place in the virtual realm. Check the library’s website event schedule frequently for event offerings at www.guelphpl.ca.

There may be some people who remain isolated at home and we want you to know, the library is here to help. We want to make sure you’re doing OK! The library will be re-starting our Visiting Library Service (VLS) as circumstances allow to help you enjoy library materials at home. Please get in touch with us if you are one of our VLS patrons or if you think this might be just the assistance you could use to help you thrive. Contact the library at 519-824-6220 or fill out this online request form or email [email protected] to connect with our Visiting Library Service.

Need a library card or know someone who does? Guelph residents can register for temporary virtual library cards through the library’s catalogue or drop into any library location to get started.

We thank you for your patience over recent months and look forward to seeing you very soon!
