Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Pubic Health has confirmed a case of COVID-19 at Willow Road Public School.

The single case was identified Thursday and a letter sent to parents/guardians and staff.

"Public Health has notified us that an individual in our school has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, some potentially affected classes have been asked to stay at home while Public Health does contact tracing," the letter said.

No classes are yet reported closed and the school remains open.

It is not yet known if the case is a student or staff member.

This is the 11th case currently in Guelph schools: There are five cases confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School, two at Guelph CVI, and one each at John F. Ross, Victory Public School and Kortright Hills Public School. There is also a case in Palmerston at Norwell District Secondary School.

The University of Guelph main campus has two active cases.
