Woodlawn Road West McDonald's closes after employee tests positive for COVID-19

The employee worked on June 8 and the restaurant will be closed for a thorough cleaning and sanitation

The Woodlawn Road West McDonald's has been closed for cleaning after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

"Out of an abundance of caution, McDonald’s Canada made the decision to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitation by 3rd party cleaning experts," McDonald's External Communications Manager Ryma Boussoufa said in an email on Thursday night.

Boussoufa also said that all other employees who may have been in close contact with the employee "have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available."

The employee last worked on June 8 from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Anyone who visited the restauarant on June 8 are asked to "take direction from the experts at the Ontario Public Health by visiting their website."
