The following letter to the editor was submitted to GuelphToday by Anne E. Holman about Guelph's draft budget for 2024.
Council MUST reduce this planned multiyear budget-as it stands now, because year 2 increase includes the year 1 increase and likewise year 3 will include its increase based on the cumulative prior years, the taxpayer IN REALITY INCURS A 30% INCREASE IN OUR TAXES by the third year.
Do the math! This is unconscionable!
Of course, many of the staff do not incur this increase because they do not live in Guelph.
