GuelphToday received the following letter from Wanda Gordon to City Council regarding Ontario Reformatory Lands:

To: Cam Guthrie, June Hofland, Phil Alt and other members of the Guelph City Council

I am writing regarding the Ontario Reformatory Lands.

It is important that the land and buildings be designated as Heritage lands so that they are preserved for the people of Ontario and in particular the people of Guelph.

These lands have been a valuable resource for the people of Guelph and should continue to be so. Including Part 5 in the designation will allow people to continue to enjoy these lands.

Please ensure that the Heritage designation approved by the City include Part 4, as well as that recommended by the Guelph Heritage Committee – Part 5 to protect the Cultural Heritage Landscape of the former Ontario Reformatory.

Thank you for your attention.
