GuelphToday received the following letter to the editor from reader Wendy Presant regarding Guelph General Hospital and a positive experience at the facility.

Yesterday I had a minor investigative procedure done at the Guelph General Hospital. I was a bit apprehensive before I went in, after reading so much about the collapse of Ontario's health care system, hospital staff shortages, burnout and overcrowding.

From the time I walked into the processing area, to the procedure itself, I found the receptionist efficient, and the care of the doctor, nurse and technician professional, timely and compassionate. They all made sure to answer my questions, obtained good consents before taking any actions, and explained both the procedure and what I should do after, thoroughly. I felt well cared for and informed.

I will surmise from this experience that even though health care is struggling in so many ways right now, our stellar staff at the Guelph General Hospital are still doing the phenomenal job of patient care that they have always done. Based on my experience yesterday, if you have an upcoming procedure or surgery scheduled, you will be in good hands.

Wendy Presant.
