GuelphToday received the following letter to the editor from resident Marian Dishart regarding the state of Riverside Park:
I visited Riverside Park yesterday and was very disappointed.
As a child, our family would visit this park regularly for picnics and swimming.
Deciding to take a walk through the park with my dog, I was shocked. I was surrounded by geese and seagulls. There was so much bird feces that I was hard-pressed to find a place to put down a blanket for a picnic. The park actually smelled bad.
Something should be done to try and control the geese.
It’s a shame that this once beautiful park has deteriorated to a geese haven.
