It started out as a way to make a youngsters birthday a little more special during the early days of COVID, then blossomed into a movement.

The Guelph Kids Socially Distancing Birthday Parade Facebook group ended up doing over 1,000 parades in Guelph over seven months, with what was usually over 20 decorated birthdays doing drive-bys to help people celebrate.

It didn't end at birthdays, as Canada Day parades and even a 'happy birthday Guelph' drive-by of city hall.

All volunteers, honking horns and dropping off treats for the person experiencing their special day, some days up to 10 of them.
