Jass Ghuman cares.

He also knows that people can struggle during the holidays. Even before COVID-19 made everything worse.

Last December the Guelph man reached out to the Guelph community via several different Facebook groups, offering to spend some time, share a tea and some desserts, with anyone feeling down and lonely over the holidays.

GuelphToday caught up with him in January.

“My Facebook messenger gets blown up. It’s kind of sad actually,” said Ghuman who says he sees people of all ages under various circumstances across the city from students who cannot afford food to parents who can’t provide winter gear for their children.

There were around 75 that reached out to him and he met with around 30 of them.

“I can’t help everybody,” he said.
