Wellington Water Watchers have announced the event lineup for the 2022 2Rivers Festival 2022, an annual event held on the banks of the Speed and Eramosa rivers.

"The 2Rivers Festival strives to connect the Guelph community with the city's two beautiful rivers, the Speed and the Eramosa. This year, things are going to look a little different but the celebrations, love and connections will all be the same!" states a news release.

The event's steering committee has decided to narrow down the number of events this year and structure the festival to showcase the theme for 2022 - Reaching the River's Edge.

Our theme, Reaching the River’s Edge, encompasses an invitation to all community members to bring their stories and share together on the shores of these rivers - the pulsing vein of life through this landscape.” said Tamanna Kohi, board chair of the Water Watchers in the news release. “In the past the 2Rivers Festival has focused predominantly on local ecology. As our collective awareness grows, so too grows the understanding of the need to learn more about the myriad intersectional issues that compound and exacerbate ecological problems. Who's stories have not been told?”
