A new all-Canadian sausage place booming in Guelph (5 photos)

The 'authentically Canadian" store serves 100 per cent Canadian products

Wally Parr’s new location in Guelph is booming with business.

With locations in Caledonia, Burlington and Hamilton, the restaurant has officially opened its doors to Guelph on May 14 and has seen a surge of customers ever since.

With a specialty in sausages, the location at 1482 Gordon St. offers frozen meals ready under 20 minutes, such as jambalaya, country stew, burrito bowls, stir fry, and pasta made with their sausages in it.

The restaurant sells ready-to-go sausages and fresh bread baked in-house that are affordable for its customers.

The franchise calls itself ‘authentically Canadian’ by offering Canadian products which are gluten-free, MSG-free, filler-free and preservative-free and sausages that are 87 per cent fat-free.

“Keeping things Canadian as much as we can is important to us,” says co-owner Cathy Bojeczko who owns the store with her husband Bill Bojeczko.

Bojeczko, who lived in Guelph her whole life and who comes from an accounting background, says they were passionate about starting their own business for a few years and kept their eyes on Wally Parr.

“Guelph has received us very well,” says Bojeczko.

As her first business with no culinary experience, Bojeczko comes to the scene with a lot of excitement.

“Oh it's an experience,” she laughs “I never even lit a BBQ before.”

“You walk in and you smell the fresh-baked buns, some BBQed sausage,” says Bojeczko describing the unique experience of shopping at her restaurant.

With their BBQ that is on 365 days a year, you can buy sausage on a bun for lunch for $5.25 to go.

The store is open all week Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
