After 10 years, south end bar/restaurant has closed

Fionn MacCool's closed last Wednesday according to a notice in its window

A longstanding bar and restaurant at the intersection of Stone Road and Edinburgh Road has closed.

Fionn MacCool's closed its doors for good last Wednesday, according to a notice posted on its door.

"Dear friends, we are sad to say that after serving our community for the last 10 years we will be closing permanently as of June 28, we enjoyed serving all of you, and look forward to seeing you around the city. With love. Fionn Maccools staff," read the notice.

The establishment was located at 494 Edinburgh Rd. S., in the Metro plaza.

The corporate web site lists 21 locations in Ontario, with three of those listed as "temporarily closed." It still has the Guelph location as open.

The most recent owner took over in 2019.

In the past the same location has been home to several brands since opening.
