About Go Skateboarding Day

Go Skateboarding Day, started in 2004 by the International Association of Skateboard Companies, is a day of celebration for skateboarders around the world.

Communities marking the day use it as an opportunity to promote skateboarding and to encourage young people to get outside and enjoy the sport. This is the first year Guelph has participated in Go Skateboarding Day.

About Healthy Kids Community Challenge

The City of Guelph is one of 45 cities selected to take part in the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, a key part of Ontario’s Healthy Kids Strategy.

Guelph’s participation in the three-year program, funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, allows the City and its partners to create a community where it’s easy for children to lead healthier lives. Locally, the initiative is called Energize Guelph.
