After “well over” 2,000 votes were tallied, names of six Guelph snowplows have been decided.

“We can’t thank the community enough … for rallying around this contest,” said Mayor Cam Guthrie in a video posted on Twitter. “We want to thank the community for submitting so many names.”

Names to be featured on the plow tracker app for the rest of 2021 and 2022 are:

Blizzard of Oz

Flocon

Darth Blader

Sir Plows-A-Lot

Frost Bite

Lil’ Plow Wow.

The naming contest, done in partnership with the Guelph Storm, saw a panel of judges select 10 finalists from more than 400 name submissions, with the public voting for the winners.

In addition to the six names above, plows will be be named after Storm mascots Storm and Spyke.
