Annual show an opportunity to learn about fibre arts

WELLINGTON COUNTY MUSEUM

One-of-a-kind handcrafted items will be on display and available for purchase Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Wellington County Museum when the Guelph Guild of Handweavers and Spinners holds its annual show and sale.

The event provides the public with an opportunity to learn more about fibre arts and to engage with the artisans demonstrating various skills and offering work for sale.

Accessories, decorative and functional works of art, seasonal goods and fibre art supplies and services will be featured. Demonstrations of various skills and techniques will take place throughout the day.

The museum is located at 536 Wellington County Rd. 18, between Fergus and Elora. The Fall Fibres Show and Sale will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. All members of the public are welcome.

The Guelph Handweavers and Spinners Guild includes more than 50 artisans from across the region. The guild meets and hosts special events throughout the year. Members have a variety of skill levels in weaving and spinning and related specialties. New members are welcome. For information, visit www.ghsguild.ca.
