Updated water tests have cleared a pair of area beaches for safe use this weekend.
The Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health unit has now declared the main beach at Guelph Lake Conservation Area and Belwood Quarry as “open” based on tests conducted Thursday.
Earlier tests this week led to a “posted” warning, meaning that swimming at those beaches could have led to health issues due to high E.-coli counts.
All other area beaches, including Rockwood Conservation Area, Emerald Lake and Guelph Lake’s second beach are also listed as “open.”
