Guelph residents will have an opportunity to join a guided tour of their ward over the coming weeks to learn about the benefits and pitfalls of riding a bike in their neighbourhood.

The Guelph Coalition for Active Transportation (GCAT) is hosting ward rides in Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5  to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of Guelph active transportation infrastructure, says a GCAT press release.

A ride for Ward 6 will be done if a lead volunteer can be found.

Each ride will take approximately an hour at a leisurely pace, with stops along the way.

At the end of each ride, participants will stop at a pre designated location to discuss what we liked about the ride, and how we can improve active transportation infrastructure in each ward.

The information will be compiled and shared with candidates in the upcoming municipal election and city staff.

Dates for the rides are as follows along with ride leaders.

All rides begin at 11 a.m. RSVP the ride leader if you are interested in attending and don’t forget your helmet.
