Winter weather travel advisory in effect for tonight for locally heavy flurries and blowing snow.

Hazard:
Locally heavy snowfall of 2 to 4 cm.
Heavy bursts of snow and strong wind gusts up to 70 km/h resulting in blowing snow and reduced visibility to near zero at times.

Timing: Tonight through early Thursday morning.

Discussion:
Flurries producing heavy bursts of snow will combine with strong wind gusts up to 70 km/h to result in blowing snow and significantly reduced visibilities at times. These flurries and strong winds are expected to last through the night before weakening Thursday morning.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
