NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
The Guelph Public Library is thrilled to once again partner with Vocamus Writers Community to offer teens a chance to express their creativity through writing and the arts. Publisher Jeremy Luke Hill shares, "We love publishing the Teen ETCH Anthology because it's a way to let talented young writers in Guelph get started in their career."

The Write On: Teen Short Story Contest runs until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Teens in grades 7 through 12 are encouraged to write a short story on any topic in 1,500 words or less and send it to [email protected].

Winners will be chosen for each category: Grades 7 to 8, Grades 9 to 10 and Grades 11 to 12 and will receive a Downtown Guelph gift certificate. Participants may also have their work included in the “ETCH Anthology” to be sold in June.

Pairing with this writing contest is the Cover It Up: Teen Book Cover Contest where students in grades 7 through 12 can showcase their artistic talents by creating a cover for the upcoming ETCH Anthology. The sky’s the limit! Paint, draw, photography, digital arts – you decide.

Participants may use any form of media to create the new ETCH cover and you could also win a Downtown Guelph gift certificate. Submit your entry to [email protected] or drop it off to any Guelph Public Library location before 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

Let your creative juices flow! Start drafting your short story and designing your cover art today.
