City and CUPE negotiations start this Friday

GUELPH - The City of Guelph and CUPE locals 241, 973 and 1946, representing outside, office and library city workers, head to the table to start negotiations this Friday, February 5.

City staff received direction and the bargaining mandate from Council on January 25, 2016.

The City is committed to working with CUPE to reach a collective agreement that is fair for the employees, reasonable and affordable for citizens, and aligns with settlements of other unionized employee groups.

Eight additional dates for negotiations have been presented to CUPE, but have not yet been confirmed.

Regular updates will be posted online at guelph.ca/cupe.
