GUELPH ERAMOSA - The closing arguments in the hotly-contested Hidden Quarry application are set to start Monday morning.

The legal battle over a construction company's desire to open a large aggregate quarry just east of Rockwood has been going on for several years.

The application by James Dick Construction is being challenged by the local citizen's group Concerned Residents' Coalition and the Regional Municipality of Halton and Halton Hills.

Closing arguments from the three parties at the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal that began in May will begin at 10 a.m. at the Guelph Eramosa Township office on Wellington Road 124.

James Dick Construction made an application for an aggregate licence and for re-zoning of the proposed site in 2013. Both applications are being addressed at the hearing.

A decision will be made at a later date.
