NEWS RELEASE

The Guelph Public Library’s Rosa Rattray Early Literacy Fund (RRELF) supports early literacy initiatives across all library locations for our community.

To date, this fund has enabled the purchase of multiple Early Literacy Stations, a collection of Playaway Launchpads and educational toys for children – plus the newest generous donation of Botley Coding Robots for programming and outreach initiatives.

Botley is an award-winning coding robot which helps youngsters to learn how to code without the need for a screen. These robots help children to learn early STEM skills, while playing and having fun, and are instrumental in promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Guelph Public Library CEO Steven Kraft shares, “We are so thankful for all who’ve donated in support of the Early Literacy Fund. Thanks to the support of our community, we’ve been able to provide lots of great learning-rich activities for local youngsters.”

The Library is grateful to the Rattray family for establishing this fund in memory of Rosa, and all who continue to support these efforts and make learning opportunities like these possible.
