The former Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 639 Eramosa Rd. may be converted into a chiropractic centre.

A former Jehovah’s Witnesses hall in the city’s north end should be approved for conversion into a chiropractic clinic, city staff say in a recommendation heading to council next month.

If ultimately approved, the planning proposal would see 639 Eramosa Rd. become the new home of Guelph Chiropractic Health Centre, which is currently located on Woolwich Street.

Council is slated to make a decision on the development proposal during its monthly planning session, set for Dec. 6.

The property is owned by a numbered company registered to Dr. Michael Grabowski and Dr. Katelyn McGhie.

In order for the conversion to go ahead, they’ve requested the land use designation be changed to mixed office/commercial from low density residential, and that zoning be changed from educational, spiritual and other services to specialized office residential.

No opposition to the plan came forward during a public meeting held this past September.

The subject property is located on the south side of Eramosa Road, between

Victoria Road North and Speedvale Avenue East

The deadline to register as a delegate or make a written submission to council for its Dec. 6 meeting is Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. To register, visit guelph.ca/delegation, call 519-837-5603 or email [email protected].
