Public health officials have declared a COVID-19 outbreak related to a recent wedding and reception, urging everyone who attended to self-isolate, get tested and monitor for symptoms of the disease.
In a brief media statement issued Wednesday morning, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health announced the wedding – held at Basilica of Our Lady at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 – and reception at a Puslinch home have been declared an outbreak.
“Transmission of COVID-19 is believed to have occurred at these events,” the statement reads, adding those in attendance are “considered a high-risk contact” for others.
