NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH PUBLIC LIBRARY
*************************
The Guelph Public Library, in partnership with Vocamus Writers Community, is proud to announce the results and achievements of this year’s Teen ETCH Creative Arts Contest.

The depth of the short story and digital art submissions were inspirational and demonstrated that our “new reality” has not dampened the enthusiasm and imagination of Guelph’s youth. The efforts by our teens were outstanding!

For each of the three grade categories (grades 7 to 8, 9 to 10 and 11 to 12) in the Short Story contest, winners will receive a Downtown Guelph gift certificate. The Library will be in touch with all winning participants to arrange the pickup of your prize!

The Guelph Public Library appreciates the continued support of the Vocamus Writers Community. Our Teen finalists were connected with a local author mentor, who worked with the teens to strengthen their writing skills. A special thank you to this year’s mentors for dedicating your time and sharing your writing skill sets: Phil Andrews, Maria Stengos Camamert, Carol Dilworth, Kathryn Edgecombe, Montaha Hidefi, Jennifer Hewitt, David Muttart, Corrie Shoemaker, Blake Stengos and Marian Thorpe.

Enjoy reading these creative short stories on the library’s Teen ETCH webpage and keep celebrating Guelph’s talented and creative youth!
