Crokicurl tournaspiel makes return to Sunny Acres Park (8 photos)

Proceeds from sold-out event to be given to Guelph Black Heritage Society

After taking a year off due to the pandemic, “crokicurlers” were back in action at Sunny Acres Park on Sunday.

The fourth Sunny Acres Crokicurl Tournaspiel – a combination of crokinole and curling, played on ice – attracted 12 teams of two to four participants each to the Edinburgh Road North park, running 11 a.m. to about 5 p.m.

Funds raised through the event will be donated to the Guelph Black Heritage Society.

In addition to the tournaspiel itself, the event involved live music and saw several participants play in the snow between turns on the ice.
