Delivery van stolen, later recovered

Guelph police report a delivery van was stolen in the city Saturday afternoon and later recovered south of Guelph, minus the driver's phone, wallet and cellphone.

Approximately 3:30 p.m. the driver was making a delivery near Edinburgh Road North and Preston Street. As he was out of the vehicle, another van stopped alongside it and a passenger got into the delivery vehicle and drove away.

The victim was able to track the vehicle and it was recovered a short time later south of Guelph. The victim’s wallet and cellphone were missing and his credit card was later used in Halton Region.

The suspect was described as a slender male with brown skin and wearing a red mask, gloves and possibly a beige jacket.
