Terra View Custom Homes is requesting permission to build a three-storey, 30-unit apartment at 5 Nicholas Way.

A local developer wants to build a three-storey, 30-unit apartment building in the north end.

In order for the project to go ahead as proposed, Terra View Homes seeks a trio of zoning bylaw alterations from the city’s committee of adjustment for its property at 5 Nicholas Way, near the intersection of Brant Street and Eramosa Road.

The property is currently vacant.

Two are reduced lot line setbacks for parking spaces (front lot line distance of 0.6 metres from six metres and distance from rear lot line of 1.47 metres from three metres) and smaller landscaped open space area (from 35 per cent to 34.4 per cent).

The committee is set to consider those requests during its June 8 meeting, which begins at 4 p.m. at city hall. People are welcome to attend in person or watch the meeting online at guelph.ca/live.

In its application to the committee, Terra View lists the date of construction as June 20, 2024 and notes it bought the site in 2006.

Anyone wanting to address the committee about Terra View’s plan must register with the committee no later than noon on June 7. To do so, call 519-822-1260 ext. 2524 or email [email protected].
