TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On June 18, 2019 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two motor vehicles on Eighth Line West near Sideroad 11 in the Township of Pilkington. Initial reports indicated that a pickup truck and a dump truck had collided and that one of the drivers had sustained life-threatening injuries.

OPP, Centre Wellington Fire Rescue, the Woolwich Fire Department and the Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service attended the scene. The 70-year-old driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the dump truck had sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the collision is being investigated and the roadway is currently in the process of being re-opened.
