A man that died in a two-vehicle crash Friday in Puslinch Township had killed his girlfriend earlier in the day in Cambridge, police said.

Timothy Byrne, 44, died in a crash around 1 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Wellington County Road 32 and Laird Road West. A man in a second vehicle involved in the crash, 35-year-old David Stransky of Cambridge, was taken to hospital and later released.

Waterloo Regional Police said their investigation concluded that earlier in the day Byrne killed 53-year-old Andrea Normore at her Cambridge home. Police went to Normore's home after learning of Byrne's death and found her deceased.

Police believe she was killed by Byrne and that the two were in a relationship.
