NEWS RELEASE
ELORA SINGERS
*************************
Our executive director, Laura Adlers, has been appointed an Officer of the Cross of Recognition by the Republic of Latvia for her work in promoting Latvian artists outside of Latvia. This honour is like our own Order of Canada and is a tremendous recognition of Laura’s over 25 years’ experience working with Canadian and Latvian choirs, composers, and conductors.

Laura’s broad range of expertise includes program development, marketing, public relations, project management, fundraising, and stakeholder and community engagement. However, what truly sets Laura apart is her in-depth knowledge of arts management practices across Canada and internationally.

During her four years as the national program and community relations director for business for the arts’ flagship artsVest™ corporate sponsorship training program, Laura travelled across Canada, meeting with and learning about the dynamics of Canada’s provincial arts and heritage communities.

This experience sparked Laura’s interest in pursuing graduate studies to enhance her knowledge about arts management practices around the world.

In 2015, Laura completed her Master of Management in International Arts Management (MMIAM) through studies at HEC Montréal, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, and Bocconi University in Milan.

Since then, Laura has worked on numerous national and international projects as an independent management consultant, and, in February 2020, was named Executive Director of The Elora Singers and Festival. We are indeed fortunate to have her wealth of knowledge and experience leading our team.
