Employment Coordination Committee of Guelph Wellington recognizes those that help

Virtual recognition event says thanks to businesses that participate in the program
The Employment Coordination Committee of Guelph Wellington (ECC) celebrated 30 years recently with a virtual recognition event for those that help make the program a big success.

The online event took place on Oct. 21.

It celebrated the outstanding employers who have provided training and employment opportunities to individuals who have either faced employment difficulties or required workplace experience, said a news release.

The theme for this event, It Takes A Village, illustrated the cooperation and teamwork necessary on behalf of employers, community agencies and community individuals in order to ensure the success of their mutual goals.

Employers recognized at the event were: A&W Fergus, Big Brothers and Sisters, Disability Tax Results Inc., Fergies Catering in Fergus, Grey Ridge Egg Farms, Mr. Lube, Shelldale, Staples, The Seed CHC and West Willow Woods Neighbourhood Group.

This year, the Employment Coordination Committee of Guelph Wellington was pleased to have the following speakers at our event: MP Lloyd Longfield, MPP Mike Schriener, councillor Dominique O'Rourke on behalf of the city; Guelph Chamber of Commerce CEO and president Shakiba Shayani and County of Wellington Warden Kelly Linton.
