A proposed east end development has been downsized, with fewer townhouses planned for a single block rather than in three.

City officials received a revised proposal for 103 and 105 Victoria Rd. N. in late September, about a year after a public meeting that saw area residents raise concerns about existing on-street parking problems, among other issues.

Gemini Homes is seeking permission to build 32 stacked townhouses, three storeys in height, combined in a single block on the nearly four-acre property. The previous proposal would have seen a mix of 44 two and three-storey stacked townhouses built in three blocks.

“A central surface parking area has been included to provide parking for stacked townhouse units,” states a cover letter submitted to the city. “The proposed parking exceeds the minimum requirements of the zoning bylaw.”

Driveway access is no longer proposed for Cassino Avenue.

Another detached home is planned for the corner of Victoria and Cassino, in addition to two already there. A detached garage behind one of the homes is slated for demolition.

The stacked townhomes are planned for a vacant area behind the two existing detached homes.

Efforts to reach city planning officials about whether the revisions will result in a second public meeting weren’t immediately successful.
