Local residents can end 2022 with a bang.

The Rotary Club of Guelph will wrap up its Sparkles in the Park event with a New Year's Eve fireworks display.

It'll be the first time the fireworks will happen since 2019, with both the 2020 and 2021 editions cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.

The fireworks will begin at 8 p.m. at Riverside Park.

The fireworks display is part of an evening of family-friendly activities, including free carousel rides from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
