CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – On Sept. 17, 2016 at approximately 11:23 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers were called to a motor vehicle collision involving a 2009 Hyundai that struck a hydro pole at McTavish Street and Belsyde Avenue, Fergus. 

The driver was located at a home on McTavish Street and Officers believed he had consumed alcohol. An arrest was made and he was brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for testing.

29-year-old Craig Reid of Elora has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 7, 2016.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

GUELPH – On Sept. 17, 2016 at approximately 12:20 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was conducting a R.I.D.E. program at Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph. 

Officers spoke with a man driving a 2008 Pontiac and believed that he had consumed alcohol.  A road side screening test was done which resulted in a fail.  He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

41-year-old Kevin Marion of Brantford has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 14, 2016.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

GUELPH – On Sept. 18, 2016 at approximately 12:24 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was conducting a R.I.D.E. program at Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph. 

Police spoke with a man driving a 2011 Ford Pontiac and he showed signs of alcohol consumption.  A road side screening test was done which resulted in a fail. 

He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

49-year-old Raymond Sterling of Leamington has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 14, 2016.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

GUELPH – On Sept. 18, 2016 at approximately 12:53 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was conducting a R.I.D.E. program at Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph. 

A man driving a 2012 Kia entered the program and spoke with police.  Officers believed that he had consumed alcohol and a road side screening test was done which resulted in a fail. 

He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

43-year-old Peter Nissen of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 7, 2016.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
