NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH POTTERS' MARKET
*************************
For the third year in a row, the Guelph Potters’ Market will take place along the banks of the Speed River in Royal City Park.

This year is a big one as it is the 15th annual Potters’ Market. This year the Market will feature over 60 potters from across Ontario and Quebec and will run on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days.

The outdoor market the original brain child of Jessica Steinhauser (of kachelofen fame) was modelled after potters’ markets in Europe such as the hugely popular Diessener Topfemarkt in Upper Bavaria. Previously the Market was held in Goldie Mill Park but has relocated to Royal City Park and is celebrating it’s 3rd year along the river and is now convened by Barbara Murphy.

Visitors to the park can expect to find a variety of pottery items in a multitude of styles and will not be disappointed. Everything from trinket dishes to fine dinnerware to sculpture will be on display and for sale at the event.

Refreshments this year will be provided by Laza Food and Beverage of Guelph and will be available for purchase on site.

Given the beautiful setting of Guelph Potters’ Market and the surrounding amenities of Royal City Park you could easily make an entire day surrounding your visit.

Admission to the park and event is free but purchases are endless.
