Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo

Freezing rain is expected Monday morning.

Hazards:
Freezing rain. Ice accretion of 2 to 4 mm possible.
Icy and slippery surfaces.

Timing:
Monday morning.

Discussion:
Freezing rain, at times mixed with ice pellets, is expected to begin early Monday morning in the area. Ice accretion of 2 to 4 mm is possible on untreated surfaces. The freezing rain is expected to transition to snow or rain, possibly mixed with ice pellets, around midday.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
