The Arboretum, University of Guelph has four Owl Prowls with a guest naturalists from Wild Ontario scheduled for Fridays or Saturdays, Jan. 25 or 26 Feb. 1 or 2 from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.; a great outdoor excursion for adults and children.
The programs on Friday, Jan. 25 or Saturday, Feb. 2 are for adults and teens age 14+. The programs on Saturday, Jan. 26 or Friday, Feb. 1 are for adults and children under the age of 14.
The Owl Prowl gives participants an opportunity to learn about the behaviour and adaptations of owls in the Guelph area. The introduction to this program will take place indoors, but dress warmly in preparation for a walk outdoors.

The registration deadline is Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 for the January workshop dates and Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019 for the February workshop dates.

The Arboretum, University of Guelph is presenting an Animal Tracking Workshop with guest instructor Tamara Anderson on Friday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. This workshop is for those that have wondered what made those marks in the snow.
In this full day workshop participants will learn to identify and interpret animal tracks by looking at foot morphology, track patterns and gait analysis. The workshop will also include an introduction to scat identification.
There is an outdoor component that will have participants looking for and following animal tracks and trails. Each participant will receive a copy of The Mammals of The Arboretum booklet which includes many tracks.
