The Guelph Horticultural Society’s annual garden tour takes place Sunday, June 9 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Nine gardens are on the tour – eight of them located in the Guelph Junction neighbourhood – and all have their own unique theme.

  • A Unique Country Garden - 5767 Wellington Rd. 29, Rockwood
  • Garden Oasis in the City - 134 Northumberland St.
  • Life After Walnuts - 136 Northumberland St.
  • A Shady Oasis - 127 Yorkshire St. N.
  • A Storybook Garden - 91 Cambridge St.
  • The English Garden - 54 Clinton St.
  • Birds, Bees, Butterflies, Family and Friends are Welcome - 62 Allan Ave.
  • Meadow in the City - 67 Allan Ave.
  • The ‘Cottage’ on Hearn - 73 Hearn Ave.

The tour is self-driven, and costs $15 a person to get to all nine.

The society says three pairs of gardens are located either side by side or across the road.

“As always there is a wide variety of garden styles and an interesting diversity of plants to discover,” the horticultural society said on its website. “Explore creative ideas in design, eco practices, vegetable growing, garden structures and art objects integrated into the landscape.”

It added local artists will display work, and local musicians will play along the route.

Tickets are available at the Brock Road Nursery, Royal City Nursery, Sunday Blooms and any of the nine gardens on the day of the event.
