Guelph Greens have selected a candidate for the next federal election.
Michelle Bowman, an ecologist and longtime resident of Guelph was announced as Guelph’s MP candidate by The Green Party of Canada Electoral District Association on Wednesday.
Bowman is an adjunct professor at Ontario Tech University’s Faculty of Science and is also self employed in aquatic ecology, statistics and forensic ecology.
She was the first candidate to register for the upcoming election and has been taking part in canvassing, event planning, communications, policy proposals and fundraising for the Guelph Greens since 2017.
“Officially becoming the Green Party of Canada candidate for Guelph on the same day the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report was released is fitting – I’m eager to offer Guelph voters an option for science-based climate action and social policies that leave no one behind,” said Bowman in a news release.
