The Guelph Humane Society has closed to the public until April 5 at least.

The GHS will continue operations and will still be available for animal emergencies.

"As the COVID-19 pandemic develops, the Guelph Humane Society is staying on top of recommendations made by public health and all levels of government.  Effective immediately, we have closed our doors to the public until April 5th. As the situation changes, GHS will continue to assess and re-assess our plans. If we require our reopen date to change, we will post on social media and on our website: https://guelphhumane.ca/2020/03/ghs-covid-19-update/," the GHS posted on its web site.

"We remain available for any animal emergencies in our community. Some services may still be available by appointment only, such as adoption meetings and helping lost animals. Please call us at 519-824-3091 during business hours (9am to 5pm M-F, 10am to 4pm on weekends) if you have any questions. If you have an emergency afterhours, please call 1-855-333-3385."
