The pandemic has led to a delay in the construction of the Guelph Humane Society's new home in the city's south end.
Located on Hanlon Creek Boulevard on the edge of the Hanlon Business Park, the 18,000 square-foot facility broke ground last September and was expected to be open this fall.
Executuve Director Adrienne McBride said the pandemic led to a delay in construction and it will now open sometime in the spring.
For 50 years the humane society has been located at 500 Wellington St. It purchased the 2.7-acre parcel of land at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd. in 2017.
