Guelph man arrested at detention centre following human trafficking investigation

The Joint Human Trafficking Team of Waterloo Regional Police and Guelph Police have arrested a Guelph man in connection with alleged human trafficking. 

The investigation began earlier this month and arrest was made Wednesday at a detention centre outside the region.

A 24-year-old man faces charges including, human trafficking, receiving material benefit and procuring. Police allege the accused committed the offences while in custody.

They also say the victim has been provided with a safety plan and community resources as part of the Human Trafficking Crisis Intervention program.
