Guelph Starbucks location closed until June 13 after employee tests positive

A Guelph Starbucks location remains closed Friday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. 

Leanna Rizzi, communications manager for Starbucks Coffee Canada confirmed that the Starbucks at 11 Clair Rd. closed on Wednesday and will remain temporarily closed until June 13 in an email Friday morning. 

“We quickly activated our protocols, closing the store and initiated a deep clean following all recommended guidelines from public health authorities,” said Rizzi 

“The partner and all partners who may have been in close contact have been asked to self-isolate.”

Starbucks employees in Canada receive paid time off when self isolating. The organization also offers its employees paid time off for up to two hours for each vaccine dose and up to four hours  if they develop COVID-19 vaccine side effects within 48 hours of receiving the vaccine.
