Guelph Symphony Orchestra will present the first of two holiday concerts, with a delightful program that highlights the power and beauty of a full orchestra.

The event takes place Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. at Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate.

Enjoy a musical sleigh ride through time and celebrate the season with GSO’s annual family-friendly array of sparkling holiday favourites and a singalong in the stunning Basilica of Our Lady. Wonderfully festive music from Carols to the Nutcracker to Home Alone.

Jaelem Bhate, named as one of CBC's 2019 '30 under 30 hot classical musicians, the conductor of symphony 21 and the interim director of the University of British Columbia’s Symphony Orchestra, will lead the orchestra as we resume the final steps in our search for the next artistic director of Guelph Symphony. Candidates three and four will each conduct a concert during this holiday period, and the new director will be announced in May!

“We will also be presenting our annual New Year’s Day Concert on Sunday, Jan. 1, with guest soprano Jonelle Simms and conductor Genevieve Leclair!” said Catherine Molina, the orchestra’s general manager.

All concerts in the 2022-23 season will be one hour long, without intermission.

Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the concert.
