Guelph's 100 Steps reopened with a new look (5 photos)

The job of replacing the stairs was awarded to CSL Group Ltd. with an estimated cost of $424,025

Guelph's iconic 100 Steps has reopened in the Ward.

The pedestrian bridge crosses over the Metrolinx rail line, connecting Elizabeth Street to the intersection of Grove and Metcalfe Streets. The stairs are popular with families walking between neighbourhoods, joggers and are sometimes used by people going up and down the stairs as exercise.

The 100 Steps was closed as of July 6 and reopened with little fanfare sometime on or before Dec. 24.

According to the City of Guelph's bids and tenders web page, the job of replacing the stairs was awarded to CSL Group Ltd. with an estimated cost of $424,025.

The 100 Steps was previously closed in between August 2017 and March 2018 for the replacement of the metal bridge portion, which had corroded.
