The COVID-19 Assessment Clinic, run by the Guelph Family Health Team, will open on March 17, 2020. The clinic will be located at 65 Delhi Street in Guelph and will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, 7 days per week. The assessment clinic will be located in the City of Guelph’s EMS facility and was prepared with the support of Mayor Cam Guthrie and the City of Guelph to ensure its placement in a highly-accessible location.

Individuals should not visit the assessment centre unless they have symptoms. If symptoms are MILD, individuals should stay home and self-isolate. Self-isolation information can be found at www.wdgpublichealth.ca/coronavirus. For MODERATE symptoms including fever, cough or shortness of breath, individuals should call their physician and follow their directions. For SEVERE symptoms, individuals should visit their nearest emergency room or call 911 immediately.

“The COVID-19 Assessment Clinic is a coordinated community response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak,” said Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health “The assessment centre is designed to prioritize our resources to ensure those most at risk are identified and screened.”

If an individual is sent to the Assessment Centre they will be seen by a clinician who will provide further instruction. Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided for patients upon arrival. Individuals should be aware that depending on their recent travel history and symptoms, healthcare personal may advise self-isolation without administering a test.

WDG Public Health continues to work closely with the ministry, local hospitals, community partners and the public to deliver the most accurate, up-to-date information on COVID-19. For more information, visit wdgpublichealth.ca/coronavirus.
