Guelph social enterprise Lucky Iron Fish hit it big on Dragons Den Thursday night.

The company, which manufactures an iron fish that can be used to infuse iron content into food as it cooks, made a deal with two investors on the CBC show Dragon's Den on Thursday night.

Company CEO Gavin Armstrong went on the show asking for $175,000 for a 5 per cent stake in the company as part of a $1 million fundraising effort the company is undertaking to help grow.

Three dragons made bids - Minhas, Romanow and Arlene Dickinson - with Romanow and Minhas eventually agreeing to team up and offer Lucky Iron Fish $200,000 for the 5 per cent stake in the company.

Dickinson was offering $300,000 for an 8 per cent stake and was upset when the two other women lowered their offer to get a deal done.

Whether the deal comes to fruition remains to be seen, as the majority of deals agreed upon during the broadcast falter during the due diligence phase.

Armstrong said Lucky Iron Fish had sales of $1 million last year and expects sales of $1.5 to $1.8 million this year.
