High school teacher from Guelph charged with sexual exploitation

Peel Police say a 40-year-old Guelph man, teaching at a high school in Mississauga, approached a young person multiple times for sexual relations in 2019

A Guelph man teaching at a high school in Mississauga has been charged in a sexual exploitation investigation.

Peel Police said between September and November 2019, 40-year-old Daniel Hayes allegedly approached a young person a number of times and asked to have sexual relations.

Police said the young person refused the advances.

Hayes was held for a bail hearing.

Peel Police said the investigation is ongoing, and there's belief there are more victims.

Police are asking anyone with information about this, or similar incidents, to call their Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
