Guelph and Wellington County was well represented among the list of the newly released top 100 festivals across the province.

Four local festivals made the cut, as Festivals and Events Ontario announced the 2024 awards at its annual conference in Niagara Falls.

Guelph’s Hillside Festival, along with Riverfest Elora, the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games and The Mount Forest Fireworks Festival all got recognition.

Officials with the provincial organization say all 100 festivals named represent events that “excel within the industry.”

The organization also recognized Finn McManus with a youth volunteer of the year award.

McManus is a volunteer with Riverfest Elora.

The Hillside Festival runs July 19-21 this year, while Riverfest Elora is scheduled for Aug. 16-18.

The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games goes Aug. 9-11, and the Mount Forest Fireworks Festival is slated for July 18-21.
